OT Termite Baws...

Got offered this Sentricon System by LA Pest Control for $550 install and $250 per year thereafter for maintenance.
Seems high as giraffe pu$$y to me.
Anybody have any insight into the value in this? Their traditional trench treatment is still $550 for booster treatment this year and $150 per year thereafter.
They have original pre-construction contact on the house. Said it has an additional warranty because of that. I have no idea if that is worth a shite or not.
Thinking about shopping around and would like some feedback from the OT.

That's a pretty standard price.

first house I sold required a termite inspection. pest company said I had them and needed a 400 dollar treatment. after they showed me the holes in sheetrock proving that bugs present, I told them it was a us steel house with no wood in walls. pest company set no diff , you want sell house need treatment

FWIW, I have an acquaintance who owns a pest control company. He won't sell Sentricon to a customer. Claims it's an expensive ripoff. Termidor can control termites completely in less than 3 months. Sentricon can take a year and a half.

We pay $180/yr for a similar product to Sentricon.
If you have active termites, have them treat with spray as well as put the Sentricon stations out. This is what we did, and we got rid of them quick and have not had them in 7 years. We also have not had to spray again for them. The spray works fast, and the Sentricon keeps them gone.

There is an entire board dedicated to questions like this

That's a standard and reasonable price. I managed a Pest Control company for a while and that system is one of the best. Well worth the money.

You either have a termite contract or you have termites.
You decide.
$550 compared to fixing termite damage is a no-brainer.

I'm thinking of calling Terminix. How has your experience been with them?

It's giraffe nuts...
Price is pretty common and worth the protection.
