OT Space Coasters: Watching a rocket launch at/around KSC

We’re headed to the Cape for tomorrow’s Space-X launch.
My question is: How far ahead do you need to take the bus from KSC to the Saturn V-Apollo Center?
We are also considering leaving KSC and watching it from the beach (Jetty Park or Cocoa Bch Pier) or Titusville. Does anyone have some suggestions where to watch it?

I would go to Cocoa beach or some where on Satellite beach to watch. Last i heard, they moved the local watch at cape, further away.
We used grab some beer and chill when they had night launches.
Rockets were always louder than the shuttle.

Years ago we were at Cocoa Beach and they sent something up. It was pretty incredible seeing and hearing it.

Cocoa Beach is a great place to watch from

What pad are they launching from? If 39A/B, Titusville off US1 should work.

We always watched in a dirt/grass parking lot type area across from what used to be the miracle city mall... so that's off us-1 titusville. That was grandpa's spot when he wasn't in the launch room or at the observation site.

Wow. Yeah. That’s does look like a good spot. Thanks.

Glad i could be of assistance. I'm unsure of the launch time or weather, but i know it has been warm this week. Packing some bug spray would not be a bad idea, just in case. Oh and lawn chairs are always an a+ idea. T'ville/brevard county sheriffs have never been known for being cool, so I'd avoid a cooler and beer

You can see it from as far south as Indiatlantic/Melbourne Beach but Cocoa is better.
Best was from a high rise hotel on the water IMO.

Head across the Max Brewer Bridge towards Merrit Island National Wildlife Refugee & Haulover Canal and you can pull over and hang out on the side of the road to watch the launch or go watch it from Canaveral National Seashore if you go really early to get a parking spot.
Though personally, I think they’re best viewed from 1500’ above the Indian River

What a great view! How often have you done that? Shuttle launches?

I’ve done it a few times now because I fly out of the airport next to the Cape but they were all rockets, not shuttles. I’m a little too young to have been flying while the shuttles were although I saw most of the shuttle launches from my backyard or a boat growing up.

My son and I went to see the last shuttle launch. Saw it from a campground called Manatee Hammock in Titusville. I'd go somewhere in Titusville, Merritt Island or Canaveral Seashore. Cocoa Beach is too crowded and touristy for me.
