DC-10. Its like you're not steering, but you are steering.

Good to see these old aircraft getting a second lease on life.

C-17...not a pilot, but flew a bunch of them for a few minutes.
Did not fly in a buff, but seriously comfy for an old bitch

Most memorable was the 747-400. It’s a 900,000 lb machine that can haul arse and sweet to handle for such a large airplane.
Next would be the 757 just because it’s so overpowered. (The -200, not the -300).
Currently new to the A350 which is a technological amazement and seems to handle well. It’s also fast (.85M) and very quiet up front. Extremely nice on those 15 hr legs.

Acrobatic version of “Starduster” kit biplane. I was living in Kenya in the mid 80s, and one of the local bush pilots had built it. It had a insane roll rate, was rated for something like +9 and-6Gs, and would do around 180kts. The Navy would only let me ride in the back where I couldn’t touch anything that might damage the plane.

This is the only one of those I have, that I know of:
Going into Mildenhall, spotters everywhere. They’re obsessed with plane spotting.

Was just breezing back through this thread and caught this.
I almost posted something similar but decided not to because it’s supposed to be about our favorite planes. Having said that, frick the -200. Under powered piece of shite.
700 and 900 are great though.

Good to hear the Canadian Torture Tube is just as notorious for those in the front of the plane as it is for those at the back of the bus.

Nice, I'm not even sure what unit that is to be honest with you. Looks like it could be Youngstown.

Coming in August although I’ll avoid it if possible with all the strife going on down there. Add COVID hotel lock ins for a 72hr layover and no bueno for me.
The more interesting question is whether on not the 350-900 can make the return without a fuel stop. Joburg is a mile high and talking to my 777 friends even the LR had trouble getting underweight for the return trip.
