Saw Judge Medley dress down (pun intended) a female attorney for going sleeveless. Probably the quickest and most definitive ruling he ever made from the bench.

In my first court appearance ever, I saw some dude get blasted by the judge for not having a tie on (attorney). In the process guy explains he was pinch hitting for a partner and had to drive in from another city and forgot a tie in the rush. Court said "fair enough, we'll move your case to the back of the calendar while we handle everyone who actually came prepared to Court today."

Gave me that little boost I needed that regardless of what happened, I probably wouldn't suck as much as that guy

Women should be in the home where they belong

What about suit shorts? You should rock those with a sleeveless button down and tie. If i were on your jury, I’d have to consider your statements even more to your dapper attire

Either throw caution to the wind and show up looking like your client in a wife beater undershirt, or wear the suit and stop whining like a bitch.

I am surprised I don't see more seersucker suits in LA, hell they are from NOLA. When summer hit in Charleston they would be all over the courthouses.

Plus you can now get Haspel suits again. A brand made for tOT "It’s a brand, in short, for ballers". Seriously that make really nice seersucker. If it was good enough for Atticus Finch it is good enough for you.

I see a few options here:

1.) Say frick the rules, grab your cargos, american flag cut off shirt & camo crocks and confidently represent your love for country and judicial system

Or...

2.) Start identifying as a woman. It's 2019, they will be forced to comply.

Problem solved, you're welcome.

If I wore a suit every day for work I'd probably invest in something beyond a bunch of black jcpenny suits. But this defines what so many lawyers seem to wear

There exist nice suits that aren't as hot. Just think, everyone used to wear suits all the time for everything. When did your generation become a bunch of yellow bellied pussies?

There's an older lady attorney in my office that complains about this. She sees the double standard and demands justice for the oppressed men.

I'd like to wear shorts like they do in Florida.

I'm not a fan of the seersucker suit. Typically, I always see the same sweaty, obese, red-faced lawyers wearing them. However, I don't mind a pincord suit for the summertime.

If this was in Baton Rouge, I may have been in that courtroom that day. I was shocked the guy actually thought that shite would fly. The clerk told him to put a tie on first and he said he didn’t have one.

I always keep a tie, jacket, and white dress shirt in my office. I figure I’d rather have a judge think I know Jack shite about fashion versus looking like a dumbass.

I never was either but at least in Charleston in the late 90s early 2000s they were in style and tons of young attorneys wore them and I fell in love with them. Seersucker is back in style now but that means they will show up in LA in about 4 years if at all. It is classic summertime gentile South jurisprudence wear but I get how in certain areas it could evoke the old fat slob image.

There was one upstate county courthouse that didn't have A/C even in the 90s and if you were arguing more than just a short motion you could give the judge a "taking it off here boss" look and they would nod and you could strip your jacket and even roll up your sleeves.
