Just got off the phone with the investigator working the case. The next thing on his list today is to have the bike officially seized and kept by the police.
I told him that I was scared that the bike would either be stripped or missing. He laughed and said "if anything is missing it's ok, I enjoy throwing people in jail".

Just got a text from the investigator. He is having the bike picked up today. He got all the clearances he needed. Also, I got pics of what the bike looks like that the investigator took. Looks perfect just like it was represented by the wrecker that had it.
I'm cleared to pick it up on Friday.

Looking forward to the conclusion of this wonderful story.

And BRPD could have had this handled within 48 hours if they would have just picked up the phone and worked with their MS counterparts.

Nice. This has been a good thread. Glad you are sticking it to that shop so they will be reluctant to try this again.

This is great. It just sucks you won't be there to see the look on the shop owner's face when the bike is taken away from them.

It’s not likely that they rent them in the town the bike is located. Even if they do, I’m not taking any chances.
I wasn't trying to say they had one in Mississippi, I was trying to let you know you could find one in BR IF you didn't have a trailer or access to a trailer. Just trying to give you some options.

Thanks, I get it now. I appreciate it.
UPDATE...
The motorcycle is in the possession of the police and apparently the folks that had it were PISSED. I think they expected to remain in possession of the bike and still hold some cards. They don’t have it anymore.
This is how I wanted this to play out from the beginning. Sometimes it works out.
