So baws/bawettes,
I have recently went on 3 different dates with 3 different women who are elementary/middle school teachers and in the midst of conversation they go into their whole spew about how it's hard to see kids go through the struggle and not have a good home support structure blah blah blah...
Every single one of them wants to adopt or become this bastion of hope...
I was poor as shite growing up on the Wank (yeah yeah) and managed to get my shite together with hard work and a little bit of risks taken to become a pretty well off Engineer.
So OT, am I an a-hole for having a hard time relating to these women with the whole "poor lil chirren" speeches I have been hearing? Should I just shake and nod, then rage frick them?
What say you OT?

Hazards of dating a teacher. If you stick around you'll need to get used to that. And then you'll hear about how their job is so hard and they are so tired, but no mention of their long arse vacations.
They all want to help the children! When it's convenient for them..
ETA: Hard working teachers out in full force with the downvotes. Get back to teaching!
Also, if they're Teach for America ladies they are a special breed of "compassionate".. nevermind that the program paid for their expensive college education and they'll haul arse after their contract is up.

Take them out for a nice dinner, pay the bill, be polite and interesting. Never call them again.
It's better that they live life wondering. It's far more torturous.

They're making small talk and trying to talk themselves up. You're reading too much into it

Sounds like you're a substitute teacher that hits on the teachers at whatever school you're at that day...
So be their substitute dick for the day

Eh, they might see some pretty fricked up shite in elementary aged kids.
Things I've seen: kid with fleas. A child living in a tent. A child living in the woods. A 5th grade girl bruised from knees to neck by the grandmother. A child with patch of hair pulled out by the mother. A kid set on fire by the father. A stepmom choking her stepson while he slept. A father shooting his wife in front of their son.
I only was in that for 6 years. No telling what a nosey lady teacher finds out.

You must of missed the part where I said I am an Engineer...

My wife and I have been in public education for 18 years.
Neither of us know a teacher who adopted a child from school.
I wouldn't worry to much about it.

Regardless of whether or not they end up successful, it's a tragedy when children have lousy parents and a sad home life. You only have one childhood.

I mean I totallllllly get that and for the most part it makes me wonder if I should just kinda accept they see a lot more shitty parts of the world than I do at this stage of my life.

What a good story.

What a horrible attitude.
People want to be passionate about what they spend the majority of their waking hours doing. That's a positive trait.

If you like them and see it advancing past dates just talk to them about your opinions and if it gets super serious talk to them about children.

Why are you dating outside your tax bracket? You already sound like a captain save a hoe.

Did they eat green beans? If so, no problem.

These women want to seem more dynamic than they actually are. In this state, they are the typical miserable women that happen to have a career.

Great suggestion. Do all of this on the first date. That's when I usually drop the "Let's talk about our future children" conversation. I mean, when you know, you know.
