Russia would have lost huge if it hadn't been for Lend Lease and western assistance. Their logistical system was a nightmare even into '45 as the were entering Berlin. The US sent them 75,000 trucks in '43 and '44. And they still could barely supply their armies in the field. There's a reason they were taking massive casualties into the final days of the war against a German army that was literally on the edge of collapse - and it wasn't because of their bravery.
This "Russia won the war by themselves" myth has got to stop. They were making back channel peace feelers to the Germans late into '43.

And to say Russian is trying to say that the Russians were the ones who ended WII2 is laughable. Those outposts he described where the Russians allegedly routed Japanese positions is laughable. Maybe a Russian Battalion was used to eliminate those Japanese positions, and that’s a strong maybe. The atomic bombs unleashed on Hiroshima and Nagasaki did far more damage to the Japanese where they had no other options. The US wasn’t going to sacrifice the men from the USMC and US Army to invade the homeland of the Japanese.

US armor sucked and German armor was awesome (just not enough)
Russians were effective at making cheaper armor (but not as bad as US) so say 5 Russian tanks could take down a Panther or Tiger. US Shermans were too high and the early gun just could not get the job done. UK Matilda was hard to kill but with just 2 pounder you had to sneak up on German armor and pound them from the back. UK finally got some penetration when they upgraded to the 6 pounder.

Nobody says they won it by themselves but they were a big part. Kursk was the end of any real German offensives and that was the Russians, not the Americans.

Years ago, ships used bunker fuel in ships boilers. Ships would carry crude oil as cargo. You could mix crude in the fuel tanks, lean out the boilers and run the mixture.
A ship came into dock to unload crude, they had been keeping tract of cargo, finding missing crude.
Once gauged, a shortage was found, samples taken from the fuel tanks, crude had been added.
As the ship was released from the dock, while heading downriver, the ships name was being changed.
