He almost did.

The 28-year-old Newcastle-under-Lyme born strongman became the first man to lift half a tonne – equating to 1,102lbs or 80st – at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, but he immediately collapsed afterwards and revealed that he had burst blood vessels in his head.

Totally worth it.

I can't imagine moving that much weight. I squatted 300lb for the first time the other night and felt like the man afterward. 350lb is the goal for this year.

What does any of that have to do with this thread? Absolutely nothing. Want to fight to the death about it? No? Me neither.

Not to mention, he does have a wife and young child. Guess you can say he wasn't thinking about them, or may have been.

How many can do a 400 pound deadlift?

I did 565 for 2 this morning. Trying to get up to 600, which would be my best ever single rep. I got danger close to it last year but fricked my back up doing BJJ so had to back off that goal, but I am good to go now.

I turned 45 yesterday btw.

Ain't it some shite that non weightlifting stuff is the stuff that's hurts us. I got a sprain from lifting a spare tire from a trunk. A fricking doughnut sized too.

I need to get my legs stronger and I'll be able to get past my 500. I just don't wanna do them dammit.

I seriously thought Ric Flair was dead. Must've been a different wrestler.

Just bc it's 4 plates doesn't = 405...

There is no advantage to sumo over conventional.

No lie but BJJ is an injury waiting to happen when you get an Affliction wearing white belt that thinks he needs to go balls out to tap you.

I almost pulled the trigger on a year of BJJ classes last week. Decided not to. I've been doing so well with weight loss and weight lifting that I didn't want to screw it up getting injured in BJJ class.

its not; you can tell from the size. the third plate (in to out) is the 45 all the others are 25s. And when you look at the rack where the 25s are, its completely empty.

so 285 if that third plate isnt a 35.

Those Okie deadlift bars are awesome. Hard to go back to a regular bar after using one.
