I've carry two cell phones. Its not a burden to carry two in a computer bag.

The work one is only for work emails, work text, client interactions, etc. Work phone gets put on silent during off work hours.

The personal one is for tigerdroppings, porn, etc. You know the stuff you don't want your IT team to be able to access. Any shite talking about the company or management with my fellow employees is done over the personal phones.

You can set up both numbers on one phone.

Download your Brazzers account to the work phone. The company will then take you work phone away from you. Problem solved.

Although I wanted some serious answers (thanks), I am glad to get a quality OT response as well. Well done.

Why do they think it's so important to have a cell number with their local area code?

Some carriers, such as Verizon, easily allow call forwarding. Only issue would be that returned calls from you would show up as your personal phone number.

Like another poster said, ask them if you could just set up a google number with a local area code of your company and then forward it to your phone. Your company could then save on the phone and monthly bill.

I honestly don't know. It was presented like this:

IT Guy - Your iPhone with our area code is enroute. I don't know your number yet.

Me - Um... OK?

Carry both pretty much all the time during the week. Not so much during the weekend, but check the work one every couple of hours or so on weekend.

But I agree that dual phone holsters are quick way to lure in depraved hotties, more so than Crocs.

I can’t believe you’re complaining about something this stupid and insignificant.

Seriously. Go frick yourself. No one is complaining. I was asking a question of people who have dealt with the situation. I haven’t had it happen before and was curious about what the standard was amongst other executives.

Get back to cooking the fries or whatever you are doing at the drive thru.

OT Execs - Two cell phones?
I just took a position with an out of state company and they want me to have a cell phone with their local area code. I am one of only two remote employees at this company. So they just shipped me an Iphone without discussing it with me. I am a bit hesitant to rock the boat and bitch about the phone during my first week on the job.

How do y'all handle this? Carry two phones all the time? Carry the work phone only during business hours? Forward the phone and emails to your personal phone or vice versa?

I really don't want to give up my local phone as I have had it forever. How is this handled in the modern business world?

forward the work number to your phone, don't carry two phones and look silly.

If you have to be told how to deal with two cell phones I weep for the company that hired you as an "exec".
