Boy was I wrong. Worst pain I have felt in a LONG time. Now my newly installed bridge is very sensitive to temperature (hot and cold).
Not uncommon to have transient cold sensitivity to a newly cemented crown/bridge. Sometimes the cements are a bit acidic and can etch past the bridge on the root surface causing cold sensitivity. Just keep it really clean with brushing and flossing and it should get better over time.

Should I be worried?
Was the temporary sensitive too? If so, I would be a little concerned.
How does the bite feel? Sometimes a bite that is a bit off can cause sensitivity that goes away after bite adjustment.
Heat sensitivity concerns me a bit more and may indicate that a root canalled tooth may be failing or that a tooth may need a root canal.
I would call the dentist and inform him/her of your symptoms and see where that goes. They may want to see you to assess.
Good luck.

Maybe you should charge for DDS advice? Kind of like an online dentist.

The pain should have gone away after the dentist removed the root

More detail. Pain like before you had the procedure, or pain from the procedure? You can take 4 Advil every 8 hours.

Thanks for the response doc.
The temp bridge was sensitive but it improved with time. The permanent is very sensitive but seems to be improving.
I will monitor and report back to dentist. It could be a problem with adjoining tooth. I have old fillings that need replacement.

It was like.....your idea.
Would I have to pay you royalties?
If I can't keep all of the profits myself, then I will just go on trying to help a brother out on the OT.

for some reason, the pain is increasing
I assume there was no pain during the procedure.

I had a root canal and went on vacation and the tooth started hurting. I let it go for a few days because I couldn't get to the dentist. It didn't get better. Long story short I removed the tooth with an ice skate and that fixed everything

I've had a few root canals and I've never had any significant pain afterwards. Call his answering service and let him know, at least he could call in some pain meds for you.

The root canal itself isn't usually painful, in fact it usually relieves the pain immediately

I never had pain after the root canal

I've had two root canals. I didn't need anything but ibuprofen/Motrin over the counter for a few days after. Root canals are not nearly as bad as wisdom tooth extractions ( or any other big molars). You probably need narcs for a couple days after those.

Dentist contacted me. Said pain will eventually go away after 3rd to 4th dose of antibiotics. Said take Tylenol every 4-6 hours which is helping...gets inflamed when I eat and accidentally bite down on the tooth (one of the lower bottom in front). Said he thinks I am aggravating the tooth when I bite down on it. This sucks. Thanks for the feedback to the professionals.

Eat some soft foods for a few days.

Wow, he's a bit of a dick. He could, at the least, give you 5 or 6 pain pills with no refills if he thinks you're drug seeking.

Man I had one root canal and it was a breeze it's weird everybody else has such bad experiences.
Getting a cavity filled was much worse for me.

Did your cargo jet go down in the ocean and you weren't rescued for 4 years by a passing cargo ship?
