Started a new business in Nov and things are going better than expected. Too busy at this point to keep up with the books. Looking to hire a firm to do my bookkeeping. This will be a first for me as I always handled the books for my prior businesses.
What is a Good / Average / Way Too Damn High hourly rate?

Do you want a CPA or a bookkeeper? A CPA firm can be a bookkeeper, but many bookkeepers aren't CPAs.

You don’t want a cpa form for this. You want a part time book keeper.

Mingo said H&R Block pays him $13.50/hr

find an accountant with a little experience and let them learn on the job. No reason at all for a CPA. An accounting major with two to three years experience is fine. If they're full time, somewhere in the high 30's is normal.

He doesn’t need an accountant.
You can easily find a mom to do this from home, great job to do 10-15 hours a week for someone from home. Basic book keeping is likely all the OP needs to keep his books, pay bills, send invoices, etc.
Eta: there’s people that do this that used to work as an accountant or book keeper and just want part time work from home job. Post an add or call around.
You may contact a temp agency OP.

I don’t expect the CPA to keep the books. I was asking a CPA to answer what his firms bookeepers charge. I am being quoted $75.

That’s right, and honestly possibly low. Because they get good benefits, time off, etc.
You should be able to find someone to do this on a 1099 basis for $20-40 an hour depending on your location.

That sounds about right. I used to work in public accounting at CPA firms and it was around $50-$75 per hour, or in certain situations a flat rate.

Contact Carolyn’s Bookkeeping. They are in Plaucheville but come to BR area once a month to pick up paperwork and touch base with clients. Have been using them for 25 years for our bookkeeping and could not be happier.

Kinda piggybacking, but what is a good hourly rate for a in house bookkeeper? Someone that can take care of payroll, ap/ar, taxes, etc. For a small business with less than 20 employees.

Mine charges me $225 per hour.

Our bookkeeper charges a flat $200/month. This does not include payroll. Payroll for ~25 employees ran around $200/month plus $2/employee per payroll period. We use a CPA for taxes but that is a separate things all together.
The bookkeeper provides P&L statements and submits everything via quickbooks to our CPA. Payroll handles all the withholdings and 941 payments as well as provides everything to the CPA at the end of the year.

You seem to be getting largely unsarcastic replies here (shockingly) but might want to consider the money board.

To never have to look at anything again will run you about $500/month. You could pay more if you wanted or maybe even find someone to do it for al little less. I pay around $470-500/month for a business of similar size. It's been so long since I've looked a publication 15 or filled out a 941 that I'm not sure I remember how to do it.
This does not include filing your corporate or personal taxes.

No I'm talking about hiring someone direct. Someone skilled at doing everything in a small business. Invoicing, paying bills, payroll, sales tax, HR type stuff, quarterly taxes, expenses in quickbooks. Full on office admin.
