I woulda bet what's left of my 401k that there weren't 2 properties in Mississippi, especially that close together, that were for sale for $14M.

The potential buyer pool must be extremely small for a property that expensive in cost and ongoing maintenance combined with having to live in a rural area of a rural state.

If I'm spending $14M I'm buying my own land and building exactly how I want it.

Yeah or just building a 500k house and investing the other 13.5 million into making the small towns around it a little better.

Nearly 500 acres of what looks to be forested land gets you a whole of separation from the peasants.

He was charged in a fraud scandal centered on the misappropriation of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funds. Favre "allegedly" received $1.1 million from the non-profit Mississippi Community Education Center (MCEC) for speaking engagements, radio ads, and promotional events between 2017 and 2018. A 2019 state audit found these events never occurred, labeling them “no-show” gigs.

So basically he got on the same NGO grift funded with taxpayer money as all the democrats. He must have said something they didn’t like.

Once you reach that price point, it’s nothing to buy it and demo the house. It’s actually kinda common.

Brett will never see another endorsement contract so they need to downsize and live off the proceeds from the house.

Trust me he's well off

Meh, I've seen hotter 465-acre properties walking thru the quad.

Couldn't agree more. I've always assumed my mansion and estate in Union parish would always be mine as it doubtful anyone would ever buy it. definitely can see how living here is not for everyone and it's a good thing.

beautiful place, but a lot of monthly expense (lot of overhead)

I'd rather have a more humble compound with way more land.

A 2019 state audit found these events never occurred, labeling them “no-show” gigs. After this all came out, Favre repaid the $1.1 million in two payments (2020 and 2021) but is still accused of owing an additional $729,790 in statutory interest.

There were three different misappropriations.

He repaid the money stolen by MCEC and is objecting to paying interest.

They also diverted food stamp money to a startup that was trying to prevent concussions. Brett's defense there is he didn't know TANF was food stamps (plausible) and he lost his investment when the business failed.

Third part was diverting food stamp money to the volleyball arena.

He wasn't charged with anything.

The State Auditor initiated a clawback lawsuit against him. He repaid the money but the state auditor wants the interest.
