Move out of trashy neighborhood. Pitbulls and their owners are trashy.

A week ago I learned of a couple of loose dogs in my hood that attacked two different people and their leashed dogs. When it came time for me to walk my dogs, one of them being a blind and deaf 17yo beagle, I had my .380 with me, concealed of course. Nothing happened and I felt sort of like shite for looking to shoot a couple dogs if confronted. I should have just carried a bat or pepper spray that day. Don't try to be a badass like my short term ego did to me.

That only solves the problem for the OP. Not the child who won't know to stand their ground when the dog charges.

Start running with a .270 on your back so the neighbors get a more clear message.
Seriously OP, just run somewhere else. If youre asking the internet what to do you arent going to do anything. Just avoid it.

If it’s in the road and you are in the road and it’s snarling at you, not only can you shoot it, but any animal cruelty etc charges will go against the owner.
Shoot that motherfricker.
Edit call animal control first to let them do or don’t do something. Then you are fully justified.

I agree with you about pits...but for some reason people with means have been adopting pits like crazy the past couple of years. It has to be because of that damn TV show shot in the NO.

So you would take it upon yourself to kill the dog for the greater good? What a hero you are.
Call the city and be done with it.

Going back to my original post.

Serious suggestion: Report it to animal control before it kills a child.

I don’t really have anything to add other than this picture my wife just sent me. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a goofy looking pitbull

FYI (from a friend who works at an emergency vet clinic and sees many dogs that have been shot) - a handgun round doesn't have the effect on a big dog that you think it will. He says they come in all the time shot up, often by police, and aren't even critically injured. They are tough animals and if you think one or two rounds not in the brain are going to stop them you are probably wrong.

Legally, probably so if it is out of the yard in the street. Best bet is to call the pound and have it picked up. Check local ordinances against vicious dogs and leash laws.
Pit Bulls are worthless elements of our society and I am a dog lover BTW.

Just call animal control to deal with it. If you don't have animal control and live in the sticks then call the Sheriff. Let them handle it. Mess with the wrong pitbull or pitbull owner and you will end up in a mess you never wanted. Animals and criminals have more rights today than you do. Let the police or animal control deal with it.

Hit it with pepper spray. I bought my gf UDAP World's Hottest pepper spray for walking around in the chocolate city. Tested it, and the wind blew it back into my face. Was coughing for like an hour. They have some that aren't their hottest formula, so make sure to get the hot one.
My dog got sprayed through the fence with some el cheapo weak one. I didn't even know until my buddy petted him, and then wiped his own eyes. Dog wasn't fazed in the least bit

Yep, call cops or animal control. If you know the neighbor, go talk to them (if you can get past the beast).
Definitely can be taken care of, if this is a real post

If that mother fricker is threat to you, hell yeah. But I would call animal control first.

Go take a piss in the dog's yard so you establish dominance
