I have had this pain now for a month (I know, go to the doctor), but I thought it would just go away.

It does not hurt when walking, running, leaping, resting, etc.

It only hurts when I bend it unsupported, such as lifting my leg when putting pants or socks on, or when it really hurt was when I was getting in on the passenger side of a vehicle and I lifted it to put my foot in.

The pain is kind of below and to the right of the knee cap (right knee).

Is it gout? (I have never had it, but everyone says gout hurts all the time)

It's not gout. If it was gout, you would be in the er thinking that you broke your leg somehow.

No it’s laziness. If you wouldn’t sit around all night at work bored posting on TD you’d probably be healthier. Get off your arse and do something!

Patellofemoral pain syndrome? Or possibly aids?

I have the same exact issue. Never hurts except when you said. I can even do the leg extensions on the machine no issue when I'm extending but when I draw it back down its a super sharp searing pain. Like it's gonna fully give.

Just looked this up, it could be, but it doesn't hurt to jump, kneel, climb stairs, etc.

It only hurts when it bend it unsupported, such as putting on socks, pants, or getting into a car.

How old are you? I'm 58.

I had the same thing a couple years ago. Finally went to see an Orthopod and he prescribed Pennsaid ointment and Meloxicam (Mobic). It was mostly arthritis. ETA, also my meniscus is wearing out.

Haven't had much pain the last couple years.

Antique Tiger must be fricking Lanny Poffo in real life. Or he has patellofemoral pain syndrome. Or he is ignoring my diagnosis because knee aids was also in the differential. In that case, it is hip aids, with referred pain to the knee.

Chop it off with a butcher knife and get an ortho like that chick from the Grindhouse movies.
