this is the kid they picked up the other day for the burglaries in lakeview and a couple of shootings.
they found him hiding in the attic of a house after following a stolen car to it and watching one of his friends light it on fire.
and somehow here it is at rush hour and hes smoking a cig on the roof in his underwear.
really, this guys story, straight back to childhood, seems to cover all the broken systems in place with regards to mental health, as well as crime, in this city. just need to find out they wont be able to afford to give him a public defender to round it all out.

This is also the same kid that was arrested in January of 2015. Quite the rap sheet for an 18 year old

New Orleans police booked an Orleans Parish Prison inmate on Wednesday with attempted armed robbery and aggravated second-degree battery.
Devontay Jenkins, 17,was already in jail on charges of illegal possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting a police officer and a municipal attachment.
According to police, Jenkins and another man tried to rob and then assaulted a 51-year-old woman with a handgun Dec. 4 in the French Quarter. The incident happened about 8:45 p.m. at Dauphine and St. Louis streets. The woman was treated at a hospital and released.
Police have yet to identify the second suspect.

New Orleans police investigators are searching for a suspect in a shooting and in a string of Lakeview car burglaries.
The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Devontay Jenkins, 18, in connection to as many as 12 car burglaries in the Third District, particularly in the Lakeview area which occurred on June 13.
The burglaries were confined to approximately a five-block radius and were captured on surveillance footage. The footage captured suspects walking down the street and pulling on car door handles, then entering and exiting several unlocked cars.
Detectives were able to identify Jenkins through the surveillance video.
Jenkins is wanted on charges of simple burglary of a motor vehicle in the following incidents from June 13:
850 block of Hidalgo Street
810 block of Hidalgo Street
800 block of Wieblen Place
80 block of East Park Place
870 block of Pontalba Street
720 block of Hidalgo Street
800 block of Hidalgo Street.
800 block of Greenwood Drive
800 block of Voisin Street
870 block of Pontalba Street
800 block of Greenwood Drive
820 block of Pontalba Street
Jenkins is also wanted as a suspect in an aggravated battery by shooting in the 2800 block of Pauger Street. The incident occurred on June 7, 2016.
Jenkins should be considered armed and dangerous.
