The OT makes fun of Facebook and it is exactly like Facebook.

Can't tell if you're serious.

Les was not the squeaky clean person the soccer moms thought him to be, and that is truth.
Statements like these are a dime a dozen. Whatcha got?
So far:
-Les had an apartment near campus (so do many coaches)
-some guy says Les offered his sons’ hair stylist a car if she blew him
-some guys played poker with Les and he may or may not have had his wife with him

Damn, you even messed it up.
Les fricked his son's hair stylist. He offered to buy a car for a girl who worked at LSU.

I’m not reading this dumb thread bc I don’t like to gossip but has it been mentioned that Nick Saban had an affair with Candy Edwards?

Get the frick out of here. Professors make about 100k on average, 50% more if you teach at LSU.
If that's accurate, they are extremely overpaid.

Ignore Boo Krewe.
It's a troll account.

I also love how two posters attended Les' weekly poker games. One claimed his wife was there every time and one said his wife wasn't there any of the times
I played in a private game that he was invited to...he enjoyed everyone’s company so we made it an every other week thing(we actually still play it every now and then)..we built the game around him and one other guy...we had almost the same exact 9 or 10 guys play every session(There was a long list of people trying to play that game, but most couldn’t b/c it was super private and high stakes), and I’m pretty sure the other poster was not involved in the same game...in fact, I know he wasn’t, b/c like I said before, his wife never sat behind him when we played...also, only one other guy in that game posts on td’s...
So the moral of the story is, les plays a lot of poker. I’m guessing the other poster either was randomly the same table with him when he played at Harrahs, or was a part of another private game Les took part in

He coached at Muscle Shoals high school in Alabama. My college roommate of three years played for him. His stories are about what you would expect. Allegedly Curley got busted cruising aroundon a lawnmower while loaded one night.
Didn't Curley go like 8-18 at that place or something? Maybe if he'd had Bower calling plays he coulda beat Spain Park and won the Mahogany Spitoon or whatever.
Geez. Real life Al Bundy, that guy.

I wouldn't put too much stock in that data there bub. From Glassdoor:
quote:
The typical LSU Professor salary is $152,061. Professor salaries at LSU can range from $112,322 - $191,978. This estimate is based upon 6 LSU Professor salary report(s) provided by employees or estimated based upon statistical methods. When factoring in bonuses and additional compensation, a Professor at LSU can expect to make an average total pay of $152,061 .

And they don't generate 10s of millions of dollars for the university.

Closest I came to finding something official is this document for LSU Office of Finance & Administration.
LSU Budget Plan
Yes,the average professor salary is $126k, but that is for the rank of full professor. It takes a long time to reach that level; "professors" start at assistant status and usually take 6-7 years to be considered for associate status.
Also note the notes at the bottom of the document. Those average salaries include the law school which may skew the numbers upwards at every professor or instructor level.

Now that is optimism but in my mind if we get to the filing part, I’m not looking back.

There are some smart coaches out there (Leach was a lawyer), but generally speaking, you win with dumber players, and to recruit dumber players, you have to be able to get on their level. How Saban, Meyer, etc recruit so well is confusing.
You have no fricking idea what you are talking about.

So you are saying all recruits are stupid so it takes someone just as stupid to recruit them? Wow. This isn't the 1980s and 1990s. Coaches don't want to recruit someone who comes with baggage, no matter how much talent he has. In order to even get on the recruiting radar you have to show some level of commitment by attending different camps, etc.
I can't believe I am even entertaining this, but there are head college coaches with advanced degrees. Dabo Swinney has a masters in Business. Mack Brown attended Vanderbilt.. He has a masters degree, I don't know what it is in or where he got it from, but a college football coach at a major university has to be more than a football coach. They have to know how to manage, having some background in psychology doesn't hurt.
And more times than not when coaches go recruit a player they are not just trying to sell to the player, they have to sell to their parents/guardian. Of course there are several coaches who recruit players, but the HC comes in when there is someone they really want and is undecided.
You really have no fricking clue.
