I'd probably just go and surf TD while I was there. It'd be interesting to see if this boss requires some sort of participation.

What employee doesn't have to attend BS meetings during the week?

Would you feel the same way if it were Koran study?

If it was made clear that this was part of the job before he accepted it and he still accepted it, yes. If it were me, I'd be sitting there making lists in my head, but I'd still be there.

Even if it wasn't originally part of the job, if the owner decides that it is now, then it is now. Unless there's an employment contract specifically saying otherwise.

There's these little rules all employers have to follow called EEOC's....it's amazing how clueless the average employee is about there rights private or public company.

I'd be pissed too, but I also feel like a private company should have that right.

I feel like a for profit business does have the right to express and practice its beliefs (see the hobby lobby supreme court case) but I find it hard to believe that it's okay for a private for profit business to discriminate against an employee based on religion.

He didn’t discriminate. The Bible is non-denominational and it was a condition of employment

He played this all wrong. What he should have done was start practicing a different religion at the same time, get fired for that. Much bigger lawsuit.

So what specifically would prevent an employer from deciding to start incorporating bible study into the work day?
