WTF is wrong with that? I have to basically give a similar speech twice a year at the beginning of our plant shut downs.

alright team, we spend more time here together than we get to with our families. Remember that. Don't do something that will cause you co-worker to lose time with his family. Be safe. It is hot out there, drink your water. If you see anything unsafe, stop work and fix it.

alright fellas have a good day

12 years in the plant now and this is spot on

Many years ago I went to a meeting with 2 of the CO's of the company. I purposefully began the meeting with something like, "The leadership of the laboratory is steadily changing the paradigm in our workplace to be more attentive to the cost of our department and the value of each employee." I added three or four sentences that were pure BS. Both the CO;s were so fricking impressed, one of them actually said, "Well, jeffsdad, this is the first time we heard you speak so eloquently." I then looked at them and said, "Yeah and all that BS."

Reason number 99 I never got out of middle management.

Leaders have to say shite like this bc your night operators are on TD silencing alarms and day shift guys are skipping steps in the procedures to get to their smoke breaks faster

Same basic idea that to get to board level positions at Fortune 500 companies, you have to lose all concept of actual reality.

You have to IV the koolaid so much to the point that you actually speak and think like it’s written for public release
