GPT-4 will be released sometime in 2023 and should be even more powerful than the current ChatGPT.

quote:

Psychologist and cognitive scientist Gary Marcus is joining the GPT-4 frenzy, saying he knows several people who have already tested GPT-4. “I guarantee that minds will be blown,” writes Marcus, who is known as a critic of large language models, or more precisely, with their handling in everyday life.

I’m fearful our wisdom isn’t going to scale with our power.

You guys worry too much. I just asked the AI why a fart smells and this was the reply:

quote:

Farts smell because they contain gases that are produced during digestion, including hydrogen sulfide and methane. These gases are formed when bacteria in the large intestine break down food that has not been fully digested in the small intestine. The gases are released when you fart, and the smell is caused by the presence of sulfur compounds, particularly hydrogen sulfide. The specific smell of a fart can vary depending on a number of factors, including the type of food that was consumed, the amount of bacteria present in the intestine, and the individual's own body chemistry.

Technology evolved at a much faster rate than the average humans ability to utilize it so I have no doubt we'll destroy ourselves with it.

Will they be able to make sandwiches? If so, ladies, you’re on notice.

There is no stopping the AI. It is going to be involved in every single facet of our lives.
That gene editing stuff is scary but what if they could do things like stop balding hair? Help those who are predisposed to addiction.
So many other things.

You know what is funny was the "learn to code" bullshite a few years ago.

AI can code now...

Soon it will be "learn to use your hands"...

It can help a human code at the moment, the code ChatGPT creates often doesn’t yield the desired results or it doesn’t compile at all. Your point isn’t wrong though, many white collar jobs are in the crosshairs.

I wonder if an AI can determine what a woman is. If so, they are welcome to take over planet earth.

I just asked ChatGPT:

what is a woman

A woman is a female human being. Women are biologically and anatomically distinct from men, and have different reproductive organs and secondary sexual characteristics. Women are also often socialized and culturally expected to behave and express themselves in certain ways that are considered feminine. However, it is important to note that gender roles and expectations can vary greatly across different societies and cultures, and that not all women experience or express their femininity in the same way. It is also important to recognize that every woman is an individual with her own unique personality, experiences, and characteristics, and that it is not appropriate to make generalizations about all women based on stereotypes or assumptions.

ChatGPT is using the internet, which is clearly slanted left.

Eta: ChatGPT is taking info uploaded to it from the internet to give out answers. A lot of its answers come straight from Wikipedia, which is a left wing activist organization. It's not actively connected to the internet though.
