So
Many
Questions

Why would a special federal agent run from someone following him?

How does he know who shot him if he didn’t see them?

So he was drinking while carrying a gun but hadn’t had a drink in a few hours?

None of this makes sense

It’s like Daniel Tosh said...

All it takes to get a gun in every state is to drop out of high school and pass an obstacle course...

Since he was shot in the stomach and not his back, is it safe to assume that it was 2am, and he was running through a dark parking lot with his gun drawn toward the tropper?

I don't know shite about what really happened, but I saw an earlier article that just basically said a trooper shot a suspect with a firearm.

Pure speculation, but here's my theory. Plainclothes trooper spots a suspicious bulge in the victim's waistband (too hot for a coat, right?). He follows the guy, who seems to be acting sketchy. The guy from KY realizes he's being followed so he starts to run. The guy runnnng "confirms" the trooper's suspicion that he's up to no good. Guy draws his weapon because he's being pursued - by LSP, not urban yutes. Trooper sees the drawn gun and shoots in "self-defense". Both end up in trouble with their respective agencies. Fortunately, neither are killed or seriously wounded. End of story.

Enjoy your cruise, dummy. Maybe the stomach wound will keep you from overeating.

The article doesn't say that she walked back. It said she headed back to the hotel. She could have taken an uber.

That’s true, my bad. But the point still holds.

Who vacations to the FQ with their wife and let’s her Uber back to the hotel alone after drinking, and continues to do what? Party? In the FQ?

No. They had some fight. He’s probably drunk and/or high. He’s drinking/using while armed. He gets into some bullshite with some locals, probably trying to buy more drugs. They try to rob him and he acts all Rambo and shite and pulls out his gun. Someone calls LSP who sees a perp running with a gun. Probably gave commands that the drunk dude ignored, and Blam, he gets shot.

Can you take a gun on a cruise ship?

I assume they drove down from Kentucky and was just going to leave his gun in the car while they were on the cruise??

A "special agent" with a gun, civilian or otherwise, isn't frightened by two youths. If he pulls a gun, he turns to confront the "scary people", not run away. His story makes no sense.

I wonder if this turns into a storyline for an NCIS-New Orleans episode next season.

I'm sure he had a plan on what to do with his gun. Maybe he drove from Ft Campbell or Ft Knox (or wherever he worked) and planned on leaving the gun in his vehicle. Maybe cruise ships allow Federal Agents to have a firearm on board. Maybe they check their weapon with Gopher the Purser when they go ashore. Maybe he was deep, deep, deep undercover and is pursuing an Army criminal who was expected to be on the cruise. Who fricking knows ...
