I think this was in the 80s, but does anyone remember when a dad shot a guy who either killed or molested his son, at the BR airport? The dad pretended to be on a pay phone and the police walked by escorting the accused and the dad turned around with a gun and shot & killed the guy?

If you were a n00b I might think you were serious. But you aren't and should know better.

For others in this thread, not only did that happen but the son in question posts here sometimes.

We don't need more gun laws. The damn laws we already have aren't being followed.

Doesn’t sound like that from reading the article.

Are you kidding? You've been on this site long enough to know the details, it comes up often. There is also Google.

If his dishonorable discharge was in the system then he shouldn't have been able to purchase a gun. This is second level reasons.

He got a BCD, not a DD.

Even if they were, It wouldn't keep 99.9% of the people that we don't want having guns, from getting guns. Chicago has some of toughest gun laws in the country, and some of the worst gun violence. More gun laws don't have any affect on these people. This shite seems like it should be common sense. Common sense, is not so common these days.

In this case more gun laws would have allowed the shooter to get away since the neighbor wouldn't have been able to use his own rifle to put two rounds into him.

I predict that we will learn that many court systems are not reporting the misdemeanor domestic violence convictions. It’s a little tricky because you are banned from possession by a conviction for even a generic sounding crime like assault if it happened in the context of a domestic situation. Someone has to really look at the facts of each case and see whether it should be reported.

You can bet that many courts are not devoting the resources to do that.

I forgot about this. I was at Ellender at the time and this was going down as we were letting out of school. They were diverting school traffic but I remember the bank being surrounded by cops. Didn’t hear the details until later that day. The teller was related to one of my good friends.

Well there is that whole sovereign immunity thing. There are exceptions of course, but they are limited in application and capped in damages.
