Only 30% of the world’s population uses toilet paper

In most countries that do, you can’t flush it.

I did an AI question asking what percentage of the population uses toilet paper. The map also appeared on the search question and I found it interesting and a must have when planning where I will book hotels in the future. After our last vacation my wife stated she doesn’t want to stay any place where you can’t flush toilet paper. Those countries are on the travel ban list.

Judging by the bidet threads I would say it's only about 30% of TD posters too.

If you can’t flush it do you just throw it away? I’d need like a doggy poop bag to seal and throw away to outside each time just to keep the smell down.

Modern plumbing that can handle flushing. Mostly the diameter of waste pipes.

In India what they put in their mouth smells as bad as what comes out of their arse so I doubt it matters to them.

I worked for a training program that brought in foreign students years back. This is pre-internet and Google. We kept finding dirty shite paper on the floors of the bathroom and couldn't figure out what the frick was going on with that.
A guy came in from the foreign embassy of one of our guest nations and heard us talking about it. He explained the whole "they don't flush toilet paper" thing and enlightened us that they keep little trash cans in the stalls of their toilets to drop the paper into.
After spending some time in Japan, I am increasingly disgusted with smearing poop around my butt with a wad of paper.

India's a wild card because they have a lot of bidets but also crap in the streets a lot.

After a tour in Iraq, I can attest to the fact that their pipes are not made to handle toilet paper, they had disgusting trashcans next to the shitters. We carried baby wipes with us at all times for this purpose.
