If I could have only 1 watch and could get anything under 12k I would probably just get one of the new Rolex Explorer I’s. Classic design that can be dressed up or down, 36mm, 70 hour power reserve, 100mm water resistance.

I've seen grown men say things like, "Oooh, is that a Seasmaster"?
I want to say, "Can you tell time UNDER WATER with it"?! "And are you like a real diver and stuff"?!

At the same time a knowledgeable watch person would say, "that's a really nice piece."

Watch market is tanking. I’ve got money set aside to swoop in and by something after the next two rate increases put the nail in the coffin for the grey dealers. Will be a lot of good watches coming to market at great prices.
Give me a heads up when you swoop. I have some Biden Bucks left and a sign on bonus coming. I may swoop too.

Yeah I tend to agree but it doesn’t say Rolex. They look good, though. That’s why I may get one and debadge it. Or have a custom dial made for it.

I'm just going to buy a fake and put a real bezel, dial, glass and strap on it. For $1200 I'll have a $10k watch.

Let’s be honest here, the ones bashing or hating on high end watches are the same ones who’s main footwear are crocs.
This place is such an echo chamber for baws and poor college kids. In the rest of the real world, people understand the value of a timepiece as an investment and something that can also be passed down through generations. It also looks good and shows you have some sense of style, class and sophistication.
These assholes are the ones that think chilis and Outback is a nice dinner. Probably even wear their nice jeans.
To the OPs question. I have a Batman GMT master II that I absolutely love. For everyday wear I go with a Tissot.
