She cited the Articles of Confederation as her source.

She's clearly high as shite.

I would have shot that "free inhabitant"

Not sure why she freaked out over her bag. I would've suspected something in it that did not need to be.

It's like you can't even read.

She's detained as part of the stop for everyone's safety. As long as he doesn't say something along the lines "you're free to go if you slip me a $20.00 or a how's a combo handy/bj sound?" The cop is in the right.

How is the cop supposed to know she isn't going to go to that house and grab a weapon or come back while he's distracted? Who is it on if she decides to bolt across the street and try to flag down an 18-wheeler why screaming that a sovereign citizen is being mistreated, ending up get smacked across the highway as it plows on by.

Get out the car, shake the officer's hand and ask, "so since its being towed, may I get a ride?"

Reasonable is middle America and middle America says stop encouraging stupidity with whistles and catcalls of "MUH FREEDUMBS!"

Bruh.. That dude in the truck trying to cross.. What I assume is the California/Arizona border.. Is an idiot. All he had to say was "Yes I am a US citizen" instead, because someone feed him a bunch of bullshite to make him think he is above the law, he refused to answer a simple question which resulted in him getting a company truck's window busted.. And I can't imagine he had a job after that went on.. So I hope it was worth it.

Does anyone know what happened after the video? Did she get to court? Anything?

Well, that's probably not at the international border. BP has checkpoints well inside the border. There are a couple on I-10 in NM and TX.

But what I am saying is.. What point was he trying to make? All he had to do was answer the question.. "are you a US citizen?" It just makes it look like you have something to hide if you don't want to answer that question.

Some people just like making a scene and some people have super idealistic views of the world.

I've heard of an infamous guy (old guy) at a checkpoint around Tuscon that would never roll his window down or talk to BP. He had all his vehicle info in a ziplock bag and would hold it up to his window every time he went through. They got to the point where they didn't even bother with him anymore.

Your case law doesn't say a word about her right to ask if she is being detained, free to go or a myriad of other case law rights. Sure, he can order her out of the car. Fine. Say she can't walk to a house? Nope. She's free to go. Keep looking.

Are you actually dumb or just playing at it? The case law EXACTLY addresses this. Just like I said it would.

Wait, are you a 1law student? That would explain everything.

The cop could order her to stay until he completes his investigation. He actually tells her that this is all he plans to do in the video. He just wants her out of the car so he can prepare it for tow. After he completes his investigation, she is free to walk where ever she wants.

By refusing to do this, he can arrest her for impeding an investigation.

^^ This

Dude tells her she isn't detained for a crime - and that she will be free to leave after the investigation concludes. Not sure how this isn't clear.

This is what I would think is the proper procedure. There is no way the police would stop someone, make an arrest and just let the person who was with the person they arrested, go without checking them out as well. Like someone said, if you let them go off and walk to the house who is to say they are not coming back with a gun?

If they would just shut the frick up and do as they told (not saying people should always do as they told, etc, etc.. In situations like this, it is in one's best interest to do as told) then they wouldn't create more trouble for themselves. But I am sure people like that would rather gain some respect among their peers than keep everything cool.
