Why were those two cars driving toward the tornado?
No shite, that was weird. Seemed as though the tornado had already passed that road but was then coming back across toward the end of the video.

Tornadoes are one of the most intriquing things in this world. Love that video.
No doubt. There was a thread a week or two ago about things you want to see before you die, and a tornado is way up there for me. I've seen water spouts and what not, but I want to see a legit F-3 or higher tornado, preferably from a safe distance.
They are almost always rain-wrapped in our area though.

"It's a violent tornado, people need to stay away" says the guy literally chasing after it.

the base of that tornado was easily tossing thing around at 150 mph, you could see full size trees made into ragdolls flying back and forth in the vortex.
now I can see why roads get sucked up in ef4 and ef5 tornados, all the debris at the base is just mercilessly pounding the path of the tornado as well as being sucked up all at the same time.

Drinking game, take a shot every time he says "Mike".
When my wife watches the Kasdashians, I take a drink every time they say "like". I'm pretty much hammered by the second commercial break.

They were better than just OK storms. I'd say they were pretty awesome.

Last year 4 weather channel tornado chasers were killed. I watched a show and their car was about 3 feet tall and twisted like your average woman's mind.

I saw this video today of an OK tornado
I hope that guy knows what he's doing because in my estimation he has a death wish. That thing backs up and he is done.

I remember watching that same show. I think it was the same one where some other weather guys car gets hit and the camera captures the car rolling across the prairie.

Those stupid frickers drove straight into that thing.

It seems like the car at the intersection of the first video is who is shooting the 2nd video

EF3 appears to be the rating

That was the massive El Reno, OK tornado that took place less than two weeks after the one that tore through Moore, OK on May 20, 2013.

This. Watching people chase that one was incredible because they had no clue what it was going to do. El Reno was the largest tornado I've ever heard about and I'm sure it was the largest tornado any of those chasers ever will see. It killed 4 chasers, including Tim Samaras who was one of the better known weather guys there were. He and his son and their chase partner were killed when it changed directions and hit them. It also killed an amateur storm chaser.
If you have time, watch this video that a storm chaser took throughout that day. At the end of the video he accidently drives to close to the tornado and is forced to stop where a semi hits his vehicle and then the winds flip the semi over. They both live thankfully.
