It is pretty common for people in those gifted and talented programs to end up doing terribly in high school for some reason, and I was one of them. My good buddy who was also in the program did terribly as well and ended up in the military. Not even sure where he is now.

I am almost done with my degree, got a 3.2 in community college after failing 5 classes cause I stopped going early on. 3.5 right now at my 4 year school.

I took bad advice from family and GOP leaders about how you don’t need to go to college and it’s a waste of money and to be afraid of debt etc.

I am doing better now thankfully.

Nah nothing interesting really

One poster said he didn’t expect his kids to say yes ma’am or sir so that was a new one

Just the usual “no electronics ever, we do monitor them electronically at all times” type bullshite

How dumb do you have to be to think every person who is homeschooled is weird?

If your parents are cool, you will probably be cool. Cool people didn’t used to homeschool, but in this shitty world they are starting to.

You dudes are so obsessed with status it blinds you from reality. I truly hope you can get over it someday.

no offense but from your post on this board....you are not cool and not very successfull....so no offense, but im not going to take advice from you on how to raise cool and successful kids

as salmon said...parenting is hard but its not that hard...its just hard from a time standpoint in understanding how to steer your kids. If i as the father try to be rigid then my kids are going to graduate being unprepared for the ever changing world

let me put it to you this away....if i, as a father, raise my kids like its 1985....guess what....they are going to be way behind in every aspect of life other than possibly physically. the ability to socialize, use tech, adapt to the way tech is used etc.....they are going to be way way behind in.

and you as a not very successful adult prolly shouldnt be giving parental advice considering you dont have kids, have never had to evaluate things from a parental POV and you arent very successful yourself.

as much as me and mingo frick with each other we can both acknowledge that both of us are really successful. Salmon has been on here long enough that I know he is pretty successful. we are all telling you the same thing

you sound like a lot of the guys in the travel ball threads who think they are going to change the whole system.

ill tell you the same thing I tell them...good fricking luck with that.

you should be posting in the "trades vs college" thread instead of telling all of us how you are going to raise your non existent kids

I was homeschooled and whenever somebody tells me that they are homeschooling their kids I figure that they probably have weird kids. It's not all of them but I've been around enough to make me assume weirdness

I consider myself one of the weird ones btw.

You’re just a 27 year old college student that has no clue what they’re talking about so you’re getting called out. It’s really simple

jesus christ on a cracker

wtf did i just read

sure lets all take parental advice from the guy who through own admission makes 14/hour, barely graduated high school and blames the GOP for his life failures

but hey he has a 3.2 at community college and was in gifted in middle school

oh and he has weird cousins who go to public school and then amazing ones who were home schooled, lived on a ranch and didnt have internet access until college

and dont forget he doesnt have kids and lives at his girl friends

this ladies and gentlemen is who is giving parental advice on the OT.

never change OT, never change

Everyone has this plan and says this before having children…

In reality, very hard to execute…

It's very hard to execute not throwing your kid an ipad to entertain them? My 4 year old has been on 10 hour road trips with us, and we gave her a tablet. Not an electric tablet, one that she can write on. And, she had her TonieBox so that she could listen to her music. That's it.
