A lot of idiots out there are asking to drown.
The ones who drive around the barricades at the Acadian rairlroad bridge and then wait for someone to rescue them are the worst of the worst. They're always in tiny arse cars with no hope of making it, too.

I’m surprised they haven’t put in an automatic arm on Acadian that drops when water collects under there.

We have to study environmental impacts first.

Ok, I get the water can get deep enough, but how does this person drown inside of their vehicle? I would understand if they got out and drowned.
Anyone have pictures of this underpass flooded?

Some girl posted a picture on Twitter of a firefighter pulling a lifeless white male through the water. Apparently, they passed him off to EMS and he died en route to the hospital.

It's terrible that someone lost their life, but drowning in your vehicle is 100% avoidable.

I saw the pic on Twitter. Kind of looked like a woman, but definitely deceased.

Just for clarity, that would be I-110.

Saw where a friend of mine's house flooded in Lafayette, they had just put it on the market

People woulda find a way to go around it just like they do the “road closed” signs they put out there

Why didn't they just get out? I've been in a flooded vehicle before, and you can easily open the door

This was NOT at the on ramp at Chippewa and 110. It was on Chippewa at the railroad underpass by the Exxon South Gate which is about 1/4-1/2 mile from that on ramp. Very similar to the Acadian underpass layout.
