I don’t think Jesus would be upset that we (any Christian) would honor His Mother.

Not gonna argue. Just presenting the Catholic stance.

I mean, okay. She's not to be worshipped, only spoken to. Got it.

A. “I didn’t cheat; god did it”, is the most ridiculous story ever.

B. Human sacrifice is barbaric and primitive no matter how you dress it up.

Luke 11:27
As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and blessed are the breasts that nursed You!”

Luke 11:28
But He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”

Jesus made it clear. It's not about Mary, in any form, whatsoever.

You know this is about Her birth and being free from original sin?

I am in Cartagena, Colombia and they celebrate the feast day the night before with parades, horses, wearing all white. We had no idea and we are staying right over the Cathedral’s plaza. Was amazing.

But, the Church concluded that Mary was born to infertile parents through an act of God and then was born without original sin, so she could be the vessel and mother that would bring the Savior who would offer the hope of salvation. Happy Christmas season, all!

This is not a feast day to celebrate Jesus' conception.

"Catholics don't worship Mary"

Then you see posts like this crap which is clear Mary worship:

It was then she prayed and asked our Blessed Mother Mary to be her mother. This began a beautiful, tender, relationship between Mom and Her Mother Mary that would last roughly 85 years and continues in Heaven to this very moment.

Today I gathered with my Catholic Family at my Church and celebrated the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. It was also Mom & Dad's 100th Wedding anniversary today. I miss them.

I look forward to seeing Mom (and Dad) in that Happy Place soon. Upon my arrival to the New Jerusalem, I imagine Momma standing smiling at me with her arms outstretched waiting to embrace me, with Mother Mary

Behold (above in the quote) the fruits of Sola Scriptura and the devolution of logic and critical thinking within Baptist/evangelical Christianity. You clearly missed the difference between venerate and worship.

Seperately, I don't think you have a good answer for how to be a Christian if you woke up in the year 35 A.D. (or 55, 95, 140, etc). How could your sect exist in the hundreds of years before a compiled Scripture came to pass?

Years ago I loved that day because going to a Catholic school we always got that day off. We used to get days off when the day was a Holy Day of Obligation.

Y'all are really splitting hairs. Go Sunday and ignore Mary. See how far you get.

Mary did hear the word of God and obeyed it. She was asked to be the mother of God and she said yes - even though she was chosen long before - which is why she is the immaculate conception. A pure vessel to carry the Son of God. We should be thankful for her, or we’d have no way to Heaven.

We ask her to pray for us. We ask her to ask Jesus. He listened to her at the wedding at Cana - we hope He still listens to her now.
