Well then you and I had a miscommunication somewhere, because it seems like you did.

I was responding to this quote"

"While still wrong there’s a stark difference between what happened to Japanese Americans and concentration camps".

I said "no there's not". I didn't even bring Nazis up.

I mean, I guess it makes sense now, but you don't see how someone could misinterpret that?

How did Yoshikawa betray the US? He was a Japanese citizen who was spying on the US using a diplomatic cover. That is irrelevant to Japanese-American internment.

Amen. American citizens were thrown in concentration camps with no due process. Very sad times for our country.

All those trying to excuse that action don't understand critical thinking. shite, not even critical thinking. Just common sense.

Some of the nazi camps were the exact same thing

Minus the starvation, disease and slave labor.

Just to clarify: I think it was terrible what happened to the Issei and Nisei. Most were American citizens. Aside fron being displaced for years, they lost homes and businesses, so they were still screwed after they were released. It was xenophobic bullshite. But it beat the shite out of a German concentration camp or a Japanese POW camp.

Not all nazi camps fit this description.

There were many different camps

You're stating a truism that no one in this thread contradicted though.

They're the same thing. Not even all of the Nazi concentration camps were the death camps that you're thinking of.

I think it's safe to say that no Jews were given medical aid in camps. If they died, they died.

No, not all Nazi camps were death camps, but all produced death rather easily. I'm guessing you're talking about work camps. Plenty died at those as well.

Hell, 800,000 Jews died in the ghetto.

People need to stop comparing anything the US did to the f'ing Nazis.

But no one has. This is where the miscommunication is coming from. The OP said persons of Japanese descent were put into concentration camps, which is true. The very first response was some weird version of Godwin's law, and then we were off to the races.

Meh. There were Japanese-Americans betraying the US and pledging allegiance to Japan. Not many other options during that time

There's white southerners who want the CSA to make a comeback. Let's put all white southerners in camps! Not many other options!

There is actually a good bit of legit racism in this thread. Not the faux-racism that you hear so much about these days, but real racism.
