There hasn't been nearly enough attention paid to alligator bayou road.

Had that road failed at the peak of the flood, the Amite river would have dumped into prairieville. It would have Tripled the number of endangered homes. Ridge road would be a total 100% loss.

Why are Ward & Dawson still rising when everything else is falling back to pre-rain pace? And I mean RISING DC up 9", WC up almost 1.5 FEET since the rain. Is it still raining there?

It's because few people understand what's happening back there.

The water is still rising in bluff swamp, gramercy is just getting started, and we're hung up on saving cats.

No clue, would think it has to be the rain but that's a lot of extra water. Claycut jumped up 5" in past hour too.

So Channel 9 starts the broadcast with a recap of what our wonderful governor did today, followed with a story about the north end of Livingston parish, and now let's hear from a state representative. What is going on now for the people still in harms way? Is that not more important at the moment?

Well I think the guard was dropping super sacks all day.

The effort is still there. People are tiring out but the fight drags on.

If they are not talking about your area then that is a good thing because nothing bad has happened YET. Like me and others on the other hand in that area are confused which way the water will be flowing don't know what to do or expect and aggravates the crap out of me. I hope everybody stay safes out of there.

Then stick to Tigerdroppings.

I am back with my parents on Beehive Dr off of Bayou Paul Rd. 1-3" throughout most of the back of the yard. We went and raised all the machinery in my dad's shop another 1'. Thousands of dollars of old cypress back there, luckily it's a very resilient wood.

Eta: House is raised 3 Ft off of the ground so not worried about safety or the house flooding.
