Till the water stop overtopping it for sure. The guys at the back of Ridge say it's starting to rise fast again. Not looking good. A true breach would be terrible. It's holding at least 10-15 foot of water back.

I guess my fate rests with that road. If that water is what is filling up ridge & it gives out, we might be up shite creek. Literally.

Ridge road is fricked if the road fails and has a fighting chance if it doesn't. Simple as that.

"They" is the rumor mill.

Are you on ridge/bluff? Put a market in your yard and monitor the level every 15 minutes at that point with a tape measure. When you see a drastic change in rise, the road has failed and it's time to GTFO. If it does not show a rapid change and you're bagged up and ready to pump all night and fight it out, then you have a chance.

ETA: what is the elevation of the floor of your house?

Is their prediction of 4feet of water assuming the road fails? I hope so, cause if it's 4 feet even if it holds....well...that fricker better hold

If the water breached Alligator road do you think it will head all the way down to Nicholson and block Nicholson?

I live on Ridge Rd. Parish just ordered evacuation for everyone back here. They say we gonna get 4 foot of water.

Prayers to you.

I live off 74 and my neighbor, who is a civil engineer, is now showing concern for our area. He's worried about back-flow and our ability to be able to leave, if necessary.

That's what I've been telling my neighbors too will. I'm in oak alley. If 74 & bluff flood. We're stuck & at the mercy of what comes next

A Parish worker said to expect 4 foot on the Ridge. He says it's too much water north that has to come through. It's just gonna slowly fill up unless we have a breach. The road is already buckled in 2 spots. The gravel bank on the back side from what I see looks like it's ok. Down by what looks like Niagara Falls... no one knows. It's to swift and deep.

That subdivision is built on land my family previously owned for generations.

Odds are you are good if the road holds and possibly fricked if it fails.

I'll admit, I haven't paid attention to any type of potential flooding today.

Now my wife on the other hand, along with my girls, are packing a bag right now for just in case ...

Well take this FWIW, but the houses right before that subdivision coming from 73 are at about 12'. Once they get water in them you will have 4' to go before it gets to yours.

You may get trapped. Tomorrow will be the day of reckoning for that area, assuming the road holds.
