Wearing a pair now. Not good at all for running. Great for just walking around doing stuff.
What athletic shoe over $50 isn’t good for “walking around doing stuff”?
Seems like a rounda bout way to say they suck as a running shoe

I'm surprised this thread got to 6 pages before someone addressed the running form issues with the mega cushioned shoes for running.
I've been reading articles suggesting that kind of shoe is great for recovery but horrible for training and races.

Saucony endorphin speeds for the win. On clouds are overpriced shite shoes.

I tried On Clouds and hated them

I work 12 hours on my feet. OC may be the worst shoe I’ve bought. Got 2 pairs to try for work and running. My back killed me after 5-6 hours. They both developed a squeak sound in the heel so I sounded like a toddler coming down the hall. They also started to tear up with less than a 100 miles on them.
They’re very comfortable at first, but just a crap product overall. If they were priced at $70, I’d buy them for running errands.

Great private school trend, terrible running shoe. Get some Mizuno's or Hoka's

I don't like them for running but for standing/walking around all day I haven't found any better shoes.
Same here. They are well built shoes so I’m sure some would like to run in them. But they are definitely comfortable and hold up great.
One thing I really don’t like about them is they gobble up limestone and acorns

My profession is an on your feet all day mostly profession and I wear Clouds for work everyday - the light weight does make a difference to me at the end of the day with the number of steps I take. I don't need much support and am not heavy (165 lbs), and I am not sure if shoe would be best for heavier users (don't know body type of OP), but they do have models other than the Cloud that I believe have more cushion and support. I like the bungee lacing of the Cloud model because when I do pop in my office and sit down at my desk for a minute, it is easy to slip them on and off.
I do not use mine for running. For running, I prefer Brooks because of the cushion and it is just a brand that fits my foot well.
As for durability, not the strongest point for OC. Mine wear in the mesh of the lateral toe, then insole at the balls of my feet, and the heel padding - that being said, I can get a year without them looking ratty, which isn't bad.
I like wearing a low to the ground shoe for walking around as opposed to a chunky soled one, so that's another plus over the uber cushioned offerings I see mentioned in the thread.

I like Saucony for running. No one seems to wear them though.

but i'd rather just get a pair of brooks, hoka, or new balance and look a little less stylish.

Well that's odd since Hoka is one of the GOAT's of running shoes.
But it's not odd, because not everyone's running gait is the same. I overpronate and cannot wear Hoka's. I can wear just about any of them for walking, regular use, but I need a stability shoe for actually running.
And whoever said Pegasus, those are awful shoes for me.
If running, you need to get fitted for the right shoe for your gait. If walking around at work, get whatever you like.

But then every couple months I make the mistake of doing some sort of exercise in them, or doing some quick work around the house, and they can quickly get trashed beyond saving.
On Cloud do not sound like sensible shoes.

This is the absolute truth. That's why whenever anyone asks me for a rec, I'll say "brand X works well for me" and tell them the distinguishing characteristics and why it works for me as opposed to just "get brand Y, its the best ever". Case in point, I hated the model Hoka I had, but I know many people, some with significant foot problems that swear by them. I also never had any luck finding a Nike running shoe that worked for me either, while I'm sure they make some great ones.
For me walking around casual athletic shoe needs to look good, be light and just needs to fit my foot well.

Hoka's feel like they were made for me personally, like custom shoes. That's why I love them so much. Just bought another pair of Hoka Bondi X's yesterday. I tried Altra, Saucony, Brooks, etc. but nothing feels like those Hoka's on me.

Saucony makes a good shoe. They’re starting to become popular in the trail running scene.
