Meh. This will be forgotten in a week. You people will find something else to bitch about. And millions of tourists will still come here every year.

I believe what you meant to say was "you people will find the next 'offensive' object that must be removed."

I will go to N. O. from time to time but I'm not spending squat. No more hotel stats, and things like gas and dinner will be bought in Jefferson parish.

They're already on it.

So you'll just go to NOLA for a nice walk?

Y'all are being a little dramatic
This will change nothing. People are still going to come for Mardi Gras and for the Super Bowl, etc. People will spend the same amount of money.. locals aren't going to leave and move anywheres else, and the trash in NOLA will still shoot the other dindus while still hitting innocent bystanders.. nothing will change in the city
It sucks that he is taking the statues down, but let's not be overdramatic about the 'danger' of the situation.. the only danger imo, would be the fact that he is opening up a can of worms and nobody knows when it will stop

FYI, it's myopic.
Wrong
It's "my optics"
It means someone is viewing an issue through their own selfish lenses

Precisely. The perpetually outraged have become an emboldened bully.

11, this is by far the greatest injustice that has ever taken place. It's the only thing that any of us should be concerned about for a long time.
Time out.
Is this finally my chance as a cis white working class male to be outraged about something?

That, and I can go to bars and spend very little. But you're right, I'm running out of reasons to go.

They are monuments to a losing cause. I thought yall were all on the "don't give the losers trophies" bandwagon. I guarantee not a single person melting on this board gave a shite about these monuments until they moved them. I'd give it lower than a 1 if I could, so 1.

This.
The progressives appetite is insatiable. Anyone that thinks that it stops here is either naive or not so smart.

It's how Mitch misspells pandering.

Gotcha. For a minutes I was worried it was a misspelling of reparations.

As in tourist? Because I highly doubt they will give two craps about some statues.
