That's my biggest issue with the whole thing that it wasn't an issue until Mitchell opened his mouth
Just like bathrooms weren't an issue in North Carolina until republicans rushed through a bill saying who could and couldn't use certain bathrooms.
All the uproar is silly. Getting rid of statues (something the city council voted on) isn't rewriting history. And trying to compare it to ISIS is a painful reach.
All this crying and fear about rewriting history reminds me of how Obama was going to take are guns for the past 8 years. How'd that turn out? Yall go bitch about dems on the PT board.

The city government is attempting to forcibly remove history from the minds of people against the will of its citizens because the mayor deems it necessary.
That's Literally what Hitler and Saddam did.
Hitler, Saddam, Stalin, and Landrieu are synonyms as far as I'm concerned.

Hitler and Saddam did other things too. They're not remembered in history books as "destroyers of statues".

How is it not similar? They're taking this statues in the middle of the night with riot gear and masks. IF they think everyone wants this, why the secrecy and protection?

I imagine you'll change your tune when something you care about is deemed offensive.

Mitch hasn't left office yet. He has time.

A dangerous, slippery slope.
I guess Flitch doesn't realize the entire USA was a slave holding nation.

Fair enough. I'll withhold my not-giving-a-shite until he's safely out of office without a genocide under his belt.

All Dictatorships destroy statues of their predecessors. How come you left out Stalin, Mao and Brother #1, our friend and yours, Pol Pot.

Yea, Mitch has been doing an outstanding job as mayor, and certainly any criticism of him is baseless.

It wasn't, just like in this instance.
City council voted on it because the mayor's office brought it to the council to vote.
What does Obama have to do with this?

2...maybe a 3. You'll have some protestors waving the Confederate flag and hollering "The South will rise again". That's going to be about it. People will go about their day soon enough.

And that's precisely the issue. "Going about their day" for the Landrieus and their kind means continuing doing bullshite like this.

So you don't have a problem with then pulling down Andrew Jackson?

They aren't "attempting" to remove history. They are removing it.
That is my whole problem with what is going on. That's something you cannot ignore.

I did. That exactly what's going happening, so the concern is justified.
