Texas has cut the number of people they're focusing on to about 50 from 100 as earlier reported.

Given that the guy in DC went to Nigeria (I believe), I would be pretty surprised if he has it.

I'm not predicting some "World War Z" or "28 Days" pandemic, but 50 people is a fairly significant number to watch.

Initial compliance and containment is vital. Notice, in the article I linked, the issues of concern; first off the family's disregard for the need of containment/quarantine. They either don't get it, or don't care. The fact that they actually had to be placed under armed guard; I mean, Jesus. Secondly, notice how they refer to the location as a 300 unit apartment complex? Odds are, that's approaching 1000 people minimum, who you are going to take on scout's honor that they never came into contact with the initial patient... and/or his family if they turn out to be infected. Until the time when people either get sick or this blows over, how many people do you think are going to voluntarily comply or come forward?

1. Aware of how serious the disease is but not worried about an epidemic. Anything more and you worry too much

100% People are dying horrible deaths. Does it have to affect you personally before it matters?

just sayin, aids has been in our back yard for 20+ years but I don't see the Global panic. Its a horrible virus and painful way to die, but it's not the plague of the 21st century either.
