But swallowing enough bleach you have to move the position of your stomach?
I mean, it doesn’t take much. There’s a reason we’re made acutely aware early on in our lives that bleach is specifically toxic.

And maybe even more that Ole Miss hasn't done shite or tried to contact the parents? I'm to sit here and believe adults don't exist in this world anymore?
Yeah, someone would notice this kid has gotten fricked up. And hell, the Mom has done nothing for her kid in this. “Oh don’t rat on the fraternity”. What do you mean “Don’t rat on the fraternity”? It’s not as if they tied you to a flag pole. They did so much damage to you that you’ll lose 30 years of your life, won’t ever be able to eat and breath right ever again, and these people used a well known toxic chemical against you. Just for the sake of everyone involved in this story, I really, really hope it’s not true.

If it's a hoax, it's an elaborate one. He spoke to the mother. He saw a police report. He saw emails between the mother and various other parties.
Why would someone go to all that trouble to slander some fraternity boys? That doesn't make sense. The hoax would then become way bigger of a story than the hazing incident. Kingfish doesn't let himself get duped. He scooped the media on this and broke the story.

If there’s a police report on this dozens of heads should roll. If there’s a police report there’s no way the Dean of Students and Glenn Boyce aren’t aware of this. We sure as frick better hope this story isn’t real or our entire university and town is fricked. If they covered this up for 6 months, that is completely sick and inexcusable.

Not only the assholes making a pledge drink bleach, but how dumb is that fricking pledge? "Hey, pledge, frick this fricking bleach." "But isn't that dangerous?" "Trust me, you'll be fine." *Shrugs* "If you say so." WTF
How dumb do you have to be to derive this from the article, maybe read it again, but slowly..

fricking shocker. They are far and away the worst fraternity at Ole Miss.
At MSU too. Pretty sure Pikes are universally douchebags
My dad said when he was at Univ of Arkansas Pikes were awful even then and that was the early 80s

They also brought us the asschugging incident at Tennessee that led to this gold press conference.

went down a little hazing death rabbit hole. Crazy the amount of water intoxication listed.
there was that incident years ago at Tulane where the pledges had a crawfish pot of boiling water poured on their backs.
That was also pretty fricked up. Don’t think anyone was charged either

I’m a student and have known about this for nearly 4 months. The kid picked up the bottle of clear cleaning solution thinking it was water and sprayed a couple of kids then noticed the smell and immediately put the bottle down. Stupid as frick? Absolutely. But the article makes it sound like the frat is just running around forcing bleach down kid’s throats is gonna get the Jackson Jumbalaya website a nice little suit. He got forcefully thrown out of the meeting and kicked out of the fraternity the next morning and their National fraternity has record of that. The kid is a daddy’s money Florida kid (of course) who is already lawyered up. Will be interesting to see what kind of plea deal the prosecution presents. Regardless, another embarrassing fraternity story for ole miss that has somehow evaded the national news so far

The level of hazing going on out there is simply absurd (coming from a guy that graduated from the Citadel and was hazed greatly). The leadership of that Frat needs to be held accountable!

they were just a bunch of candy-assed nerds when I was at LSU, I've still got a BRFD Captain's helmet that I stole from their house one night

OK, this story sounds a little bit better. The way the OP sounds it made it sound deliberate and the fact that Pike, the authorities, and the university were helping cover this up, so this helps with some of the concerns about this awful story. At least the Tulane story gives me hope this won’t destroy Ole Miss.

My dad was a Pike at La Tech and used to donate money to them regularly. He parted company a few years ago when they managed to burn down their house doing some dumbass thing or other.
ETA it was the second time it had happened

The best story is the Phi Delts at Ole Miss back in the 90s had their house burnt down at the very end of the semester conveniently when the portraits and furniture were out for cleaning. State’s Phi Delt’s got a new house so Ole Miss’ wanted one as well, the Nationals said no, and then for some reason the house catches on fire and they collect the insurance money off of it. The Nationals knew what was up and agreed to build them a new house, but at a price that they were no longer allowed to host parties at their house.

I’m guessing he sprayed it down one of their throats.

It's hard to imagine those kinds of injuries just from a few spritzes from a spray bottle.

And that, folks, is why there are warning labels on products like this. Some idiot out there has already tried it.
