I bet you can’t really classify what it was doing in the 18th century as such.
They could out read and write most of the youth of today.

Good question. I'd imagine the catholic schools in New Orleans are quite old, but I wonder what the oldest public school is?
Ursuline is the oldest all girls catholic school in the nation.
Eta: looks like I was beat to the punch

When it comes to the oldest schools in Louisiana, you have to mention Warren Easton Charter High School, which is a secondary school in New Orleans. This high school was founded back in 1843, and it started out with the name Boys High School. This was the very first high school in the state of Louisiana, and it was formed with the intention of educating the working-class people of the state. By the year 1855, the Warren Easton Charter formula proved so successful that four other schools were formed. After the Civil War, all of the schools were merged into what was called the Consolidated Boys High School

Were teenage boys getting lucky with their hot teachers back then?

I find this quirky and interesting. What is the backstory?
Are you serious?
All it means is that Wikipedia is vandalized frequently. Pretty sure no school would ever call itself that.
And even the reference citation provided in that article states that Salma Hayek attended the Sacred Heart school located in New Orleans, not Grand Coteau.

The history of D'ville High is not a good one either.
