Correct. His dad was 70 when he had him. Dad was born in 1910. He's talked about it on pods. He remembers being 5 years old and helping his dad across the street and worrying about him falling and getting hurt. Died when he was 16 and dad was 86. Has to mess you up a bit growing up like that.

I'll get downvoted for this, but I think that is terribly unfair to the kid. You shouldn't have kids after a certain age.

This. It's fricking selfish.

I was 36 and about to catch 37 like a cheetah when had our son.

This post made me feel better.

To date I have received 3 assumed “grandpas” from random people when out with my son..... Yes, I am now coloring my hair. Just touch of gray though. No crazy jet black.

I’m 41 and my son is about to turn 2 next month. There are 3 dads in their 50s, 11 in their 40s, 4 in their 30s and 2 in their 20s in his preschool class.

It’s a running joke of who will use their senior citizen discount for the class snack every month.

the likelihood of seeing your child grow up when you have them in your 50s or later is greatly diminished

I bet your grandpa never had to change a single diaper either. So if an old guy with a young wife has a kid, is he still expected to change diapers, wake up in the middle of the night, etc?

I did, and still do. If I am at home when my girl has a problem, I'm on it.

Hmmm... Trick question. Will the young sons have to change their geriatric father's diapers?

My neighbor was 64 when his youngest was born. She’s six now.

He’s married to a lady in her late 40’s. They have five. Oldest is 16.

Grandfather on my dads side was 64 when my youngest aunt was born. He died when I was 2 at age 77 so I didn’t really “know” him. My dad adopted my 2 youngest aunts and lived with us until they were old enough to go on their own.
