Do you know anyone older (when I say older I mean.. 40ish on up) who has never married and has always lived on their own?

Do you think they are happier? They live at their own pace. They can live how they want. Life is probably less stressful.

Or do you think they are just stuck in their ways an are just too independent to live?

I think they’re probably secretly miserable.

My wife and kids usually visit her folks for a week during the summer - I always look forward to some alone time and playing golf, but I always hate it by day 2. It gets depressing AF at night.

My uncle died recently at about 67. Never married, no kids. I always thought he was gay but he eventually had a long term girlfriend. He got Parkinsons and she stayed with him long enough to dry out most of his money. Sad.

They are usually closeted gays.

I know a guy. 48-50 maybe. No kids never been married and makes mid 6 figures. Known him my whole life.

He is a wonderful guy. Truly.

At first glance he is living an incredible life but then again he has nothing. If he dies tomorrow we will have some good memories of him but that’s it. If he is at peace with that then great. I wanted something different in life.

What's the sad part? That you thought he was gay, he got Parkinson's, or his girlfriend milked him for his life savings?

To live with someone else?

Yes, that’s something I would worry about if a relationship were to get “that” serious, but I don’t think it would matter in the end.

You can live like a slob and play video games in your boxers all day. Plus you can watch porn out in the open. What's not to like about that lifestyle?

The girlfriend part. She was obviously always a POS but he never saw it. Maybe it was a blessing. He probably died thinking that bitch loved him.

That makes no sense, what does he owe you?

Just because someone never marries doesn’t mean they don’t have other family & friends to will their belongings to.
