Yep one is pretty new.
The Ms delta has a bunch of random defunct chains for some reason.
Bumpers drive in resurfaced here recently too, there’s like 10 of them around.
Bumpers
Roses
Pasquale’s
Frostop
Western Auto
Just off the top of my head. It’s like a time warp here.
I think the Sears hometown appliance store in Greenwood is still open too

I think the Roses lot across from Reformed Theological Seminary is empty with no stores still open. I think RTS has campus stuff and maybe classrooms there.
Shady Oaks is now some kind of black folks retreat business. Mynelle Gardens is still there. I try to avoid that part of Jackson.
I loved Shady Oaks. Until they closed the course, it was owned by the family of a guy I graduated HS with. They had 36 holes of pretty good golf when I was a member. When it closed, it had gotten to the point where you could get mugged and robbed by locals on the back nine of both courses. My memories of that part of Jackson were all good when we lived there (up until 1961). Lots of kids growing up stories, all good.
Tose were the days when every kid's dad fought in WWII and we played war against invisible Germans or Japanese, since every kid wanted to be a US soldier.
To honor Veteran's Day, I will post a picture of my dad (my hero) when he was 18.
A week or so (Him and Mom) after he got home from the war.
They got married less than a week before he left and Mom didn't see him for 38 months as he "walked across Europe" (He went across and into France D-day +4 and walked through the gate going into Buchenwald Concentration camp on Victory in Europe day). He said the German soldiers had gotten the hell out the day before they got there.
They made the German residents come to the camp and see the prisoners who were inside the fence. The German civilians swore they had no idea people were being shot or starved to death and burned in the ovens. Dad said you could smell burned bodies in the air.
He and one of his six brothers were less than a half mile from each other in the Battle of the Bulge and didn't know it until they both got home.
Dad was one of seven brothers. All went to war, and all came home.
Sorry to turn this into a Veteran's Day post.

Definitely miss Fry’s. It was fun to just wander around there.

Yes it was. I went inside. It may have been closer to 15 years ago. I remember having to drive out of town to Dixie Inn to buy beer. Only place you get get a beer with dinner was JP’s Ranch House. I remember this well.
Sorry, but you are wrong. It hasn't been a Western Auto since at least early 2006. That's over 17 years ago. Now, if you had said 20+ years ago, I would have believed you.

This. Have to order all the small electrical components these days. No where to go for a relay or a couple of resistors anymore. Though Amazon is a lot cheaper.
