The water is gone. The barricades remain. Dotd has been there all day. How long does it take to inspect before it is reopened?

isn't DOTD just the worst? they caught that car on fire this morning on the interstate and messed up traffic, and now they won't open a potentially unsafe road even after clark w griswold on tigerdroppings said they should.

Just drive around the barricades. That's what I've been doing for a week now

The had a police manning it yesterday because so many people were driving around the barricades.

I spoke with the DOTD guy stationed there on Saturday and he said that the water needs to get to get 1' to 2' below the bridge structure for inspection. I assume that may be a while why they are dropping the swamp!

If they had to station police there because so many people were successfully driving through...I'd call that a "successful inspection"

DOTD

You're implying something I didn't say. I just simply asked how long it takes out of curiosity. I happened to see them this morning and wondered if it would be open soon.

They had removed the barricade on the south side but dotd trucks were there. They had state police on the blue bayou side. The water was still a few inches over the road Saturday but it's gone now.
