This is one of the dumbest things you've ever posted. Stop listening to the radio and actually search out good music, and you'll find some amazing shite.

Wait this doesn't include Spotify?

Artists don't make shite from spotify. They're lucky to get $500 per million listens

Point out where anyone in this thread argued otherwise...

That's because old people buy music, young ones steal it.

Again, someone's opinion on how good or bad music is or was cannot be right or wrong. It's an opinion. And no matter how much it bothers young people today, people in the real world will have their own opinion on matters and chances are their opinion won't mesh up with yours. Deal with

It's not a matter of opinion, it's a fact proven by even just the shitload of great music that's come out in the last 2 years alone.

You either have to be deaf ot you must willfully refuse to actually look for new music.

This.

I got into the habit of listening to new music in the 80's when I was a college DJ. There's some good lists out there that call out some great college radio stations. I've found it's only a little bit of extra effort once you find a handful of stations you like, using various apps like Tune-in or streaming directly from their sites.

Lately I like (WITR - Rochester Inst Tech, KCPR - Cal Poly and of course KLSU).

The best thing for me is new music reminds me of being back in school and everything was fresh and new (now that's nostalgia)...

While I tend to agree, objectively you have to consider that there is a lot more legacy music than new music in terms of total volume.

I think the issue is the fact that everything new outside of Nashville pop country, Top 40 bubblegum pop singers, rap and hip/hop has almost no radio presence anymore outside of the largest media markets. Most of the people who like rock are stuck listening to classic rock stations and are completely isolated from anything made in the past 20 years because it can't get airplay.

There's an entire generation which has grown up without rock music being on the radio or really even remotely being a part of the popular culture outside of classic rock (which in their minds is just for old people).
