Part of the problem is millennial is entirely too broad of a term.
Some places define it as people who came of age near 2000, others whose who were born around then.
Regardless of the year, there was a massive quantum shift in culture in that period, especially in the formative years of the tail end.

I think if you are the oldest child and not born until 83, you are definitely a millennial. But if you are the youngest sibling of a bunch of genxers and weren’t born til 83 you can still claim genx.

“Millennials” that were in HS or older for 9/11 should, generally speaking, be another group.
So ~1987 or older. We all remember a time without internet in our home and it was dial up if we did have it. Cell phones were shared by the family, etc.

No they don't. It's pretty much universally accepted that the end of the millennial generation was born no later than 1997, and many place the end as early as 1995.
One of the best identifiers for the transition period (not even joking) is if they identify more with Pokemon gen 1-3 (Millennial) or 4-6 (gen Z).
