Old Farts on Tricycles

Just got stuck in a long line of cars behind 4 senior citizens riding tandem on gas tricycles, 20 MPH below the speed limit.
Can somebody explain the attraction of those machines?
All I can figure is, "I don't want the speed and maneuverability of a motorcycle, but I do love getting soaked when it rains."

I don't get it. And it's not just old people.
It's like they wanted a motorcycle but really should have gotten a roadster.

Well? What do you like?
Nice to see that they are active.

I thought they were motorcycles for the disabled

They look adorable.
How often is this really a problem? I hope the old lady and I are happily riding around the country at that age.

Wanting a boat, motorcycle, or convertible after working your arse off for years isn't a crisis.

I do NOT get the 3 wheel bikes or the 3 wheel cars. People are retarded.

Brothers of the Third Wheel don't frick around. You better watch your mouth, baw.

Maybe they like to ride but are too old to handle a two wheeled motorcycle. As others have said at least they are active.

That would be a big load for an old man to handle if it starts to tip over. That'd be my guess.

i see two things here.
an older couple enjoying life the way they want
and a count who comes to a message board to bitch about it.

Saying I don't understand the attraction of those machines is one thing.
Calling someone a count is something else.

There's an old dude in my neighborhood that rides around on a legit tricycle with his doggie in a basket. I thought this thread was going to be about him. I aspire to be him one day btw.

T-rex is the new corvette for old dudes.

Trikes can actually handle turns faster than motorcycles. Traction is a good thing when cornering.
That said, I do think they are mostly ridden by people who probably aren't strong enough to keep their bike upright.
And I'm not sure why they are going 20 mph under the limit unless it is a parade.

Those are everything bad about a motorcycle coupled with everything bad about a car.
