Sorry for your loss baw. It sucks for us to put them down but it's what is best for them.
Getting another dog helped me a lot. Still miss the old fricker 2 years later, though. Was basically my shadow for 13 years.

we lost ours yesterday. Friday Diagnosed with Diabetes, left at the vet hospital for treatments. Monday night all looked great, we and the vert had plans to pick her up and bring her home yesterday, and then Monday night her kidneys and liver started shutting down and the numbers associated on the bloodwork sky rockets.
the vet felt that she may have had cancer and it spread. looking in her eyes yesterday told us it was time. was one of the hardest things I have had to do. sat and held her head telling her how good she was when she passed.
was a difficult day and night last night. I knew it would come one day, but as she was only 9 - the wife and I thought she would have many more years with us.

Same thing happened to my childhood dog. Only seen my dad shed tears once in my life and it was the day that dog passed on. Hurt her back and turned out she had diabetes that went undiagnosed (looked healthy, regular vet visits). It took him literal years to open back up to another dog

Hate to see these threads. It’s horrible to lose a 4 legged buddy. Every time I read one of these I instantly remember all the great pets I’ve had.

yeah - that was me, but the most heart breaking was seeing my dad when we told him.
my dad has advanced Dementia and Lewey Body, and when he would com visit, our dog would get on the couch and put her head in his lap and stay with him until they went home. he jokingly referred to her as his dog, and when we told him - he cried.
was a very odd day and night - she always slept on the bed at our feet. was odd not having her there last night - we also have 3 cats, and when we woke up - 2 of them was in her spot.

We're scheduled to put our dog down today at 4 pm. Saw your post first thing and was already crying.
Best dog we've ever had.

I'm very sorry for your loss. It sucks now, but I promise it will get a little better down the road. All dogs go to heaven

Did not write it actually found it on a Tik Tok one day and there’s an article on the full saying as well. I always try and send it to my friends who have lost a pet
