firing squad would be the best deterrent for violent crimes.
The death penalty isn't a deterrent no one who commits a crime that qualifies for it either thinks about it or believes they will get caught. It is a massive waste of money and most people don't trust the government to run public transportation but they somehow put blind faith in the state's prosecution and death sentence.

I disagree. They don’t consider the death penalty because they never see it. If you knew you’d be picked off by 6 dudes on tv and everyone you ever knew would get to watch, you might would think twice.
If you thought, they’ll just put me to sleep and only a few people will see so who cares.
I don’t know the mind of a killer but I’m sure we could take a poll on death row inmates.

Bring back fire drowning.

What's the etiquette for firing squad members? Don't shoot below the waste? Do they all just aim for the chest or head? I am not even joking here legit curious.
I do know that in almost all cases, they have enough people there that they mix in a number of blank rounds in the rifles given out so that there is a bit of uncertainty as to who in the firing squad actually killed the guy. I believe they otherwise are all required to shoot center of mass.

Rape’s bad, too, and murder. Yours is a bizarre point.

Televise them.
WTF?
What do you mean WTF? I’ve seen multiple people killed, both intentionally and otherwise, by clicking on links posted on this very site. Cameras are everywhere. No one is going to make you watch. Public execution is as old as humankind.

Not one person that has been killed ever committed another crime.

Found guilty by a jury, not the government.

What about those who plead guilty?

I used to be a proponent of the death penalty but after seeing how corrupt some AG’s, prosecutors and the FBI can be now I’m not so sure. Cases would need to be 100% certain guilty beyond any doubt.

because we didn’t just witness the problem with juries

Neither has someone in jail for life.

wasn't that what happened with Gilmore? he plead guilty and requested the firing squad?(too lazy to look it up)

Actually not true. There are many crimes committed by inmates while still in prison, including assault (physical and sexual), rape and murder.

Bring back the electric chair imo
It's proper name was "Old Sparkey". Back in the day, they carried it and the generator from country seat to county seat on the back of a truck and did the deed right where the offender was tried.
Other than sometimes setting the convicted guy's hair on fire, it was very effective. Sometimes took two or three jolts, but that was ok as long as the guy with his hand on the switch kept at it until the procedure was finished.

That's not true. Convicted criminals have killed innocent criminals inside prison walls. That is why they invented the shank.

Public hanging is the way to go. For really bad cases I could get behind sandblasting to death or bury someone in a pile of fire ants.

Its a whole hell of a lot cheaper than housing someone in a max security prison for 40-60 years, providing health care, meals, clothing, etc.
