We actually had an Olympics hockey game on in 1992. That was the year Ray LeBlanc was playing lights out. (For the younger folks, the Winter Games used to be the same year as the Summer Games.)
The announcer at one point mentioned being in elementary school and the teacher let them watch the World Series.

Don't forget the Branch Davidian massacre. It is the silly season after all. Tomorrow, I believe we have Columbine and of course, Hitler's birthday.
4/20 really isn't very stonery after all.

This is impossible for me to forget.
One of the children in the daycare who died was the daughter of a lady who worked in our Federal agency's OKC office (the agency wasn't in that building).
for the child and
for McVeigh and Nichols

I'm sure if Tim McVeigh were a poster on this board, his rantings would be embraced by 90% of the fine folks here.

Thank God they executed that bastard before he got out of prison on some technicality.

If you want a good rabbit hole to go down google Elohim City. There were a lot more people connected than just McVeigh and Nichols.
Here's a good article that raises more questions than it answers. LINK

I remember walking into drafting class at BRHS and the teacher had the radio on, listening to the news. First I had heard what had happened. Of course the first thing we thought of was the religion of peace because the WTC bombing was only a couple of years before. Missed the mark on that one, just once.

I was home from work and sick as a dog. I woke up from a nap and saw this on tv. Thought I was dreaming.
We went to OKC last year firnancomvention with some high school kids — the memorial was super well done. These kids had no idea what had happened so it was a history lesson for them.

McVeigh actually voluntarily sped up his execution.
I think he actually had guilt over what he did. He mentioned the children killed many times.

Don't leave out Randy Weaver's family and the Ruby Ridge fiasco.

“Is a civil war imminent? Do we have to shed blood to reform the current system?", McVeigh asked in the Feb 11 letter. "I hope it doesn’t come to that! But it might.”
Pretty sure I've seen this exact thing posted multiple times on the poli board

Only they don’t qualify it with “I hope it doesn’t come to that.”

I finished touring the Memorial awhile back and it’s definitely worth a visit. I caused me to dig into a few a few books about him the questions raised about Randy Weaver and Elohaim City bunch are valid questions.
He would have been loved on Poly Board until he actually did it, then he be redneck child-killing trash.
All the planning, and the day really went pretty bad. He meant to park it in the underground garage bug the truck wouldn’t fit, so he went to the back, but it was blocked off for a delivery, so after circling, he said frick it and parked it up front.
I don’t think he knew the day care was there but I’m also not sure it would have stopped him. He wa dead set and killing Federal agents, innocents be-dammed
