Wasn't this a suicide? I recall something like that.

It's apparently under investigation. Eta: just realized that article is from 2014. I imagine it's resolved by now.

quote:

An inquiry is underway into the circumstances in which a young man with mental health problems was killed by a white tiger as it emerged zoo officials took more than 15 minutes to reach the scene of the incident.

quote:

As the government’s Ministry of Environment & Forests ordered an inquiry into the incident, reports said the man who was killed, 20-year-old Maqsood Khan, may have been suffering from mental health problems.

quote:

But several witnesses said the young man appeared to have lost his balance while standing on the edge of the barrier, possibly while throwing stones at the seven-year-old tiger, said to weigh around 470lbs. He then fell 18ft into the moat.

Human that was trying to commit suicide or animal working on instinct. You're right, it's not tough at all.

Because he's a PERSON you freaking nitwit. I don't care that he fell in, I doubt he wanted to be killed by a tiger and they shouldn't have let him

And the tiger is an animal. I'm not sure what your point is. He didn't just fall in, he intentionally disregarded authorities who had rules in place to prevent this from happening.

Yet he's not harming anyone else. The point is that a tiger is an animal, you know, the non-reasoning, non-thinking type. A human is a human, the most advanced thing we know. I am baffled that you two are struggling with this.

frick that, some dumbass jumps into a pen with an endangered very violent animal, it's on them. Here is a link to something you clearly don't know anything about.

You are making it out to be that the zoo didnt respond and just let the guy die.

I dont know the whole story but they could have been on the way with guns as the tiger took the guy away.

Can't find anything more recent, but I did find this.

quote:

The guard who was present at the time revealed the reason why the zoo officials could not tranquilize the tiger. The guard named Praveen told the police that the tranquilizer injection and gun were kept in the office of the doctor appointed to give first aid in the zoo. Unfortunately, the doctor wasn’t present on the day and that is why the zoo officials did not use the gun to save the man.

It actually sounds about right.

At Brec Zoo, i think there were only 2 to 3 people that had access to the guns to put down an animal.

Depending on the situation, you might have to have the gun and person at the enclosure to save someone. The guns we had were used for when animals got out and were a threat to people, not people jumping into the area with the animals.

Although people did do that

Sympathy for criminals>>>>Sympathy for idiot big cat handlers. I mean, how hard and expensive is it to carry pepper spray, electric piece or even a goddamned piece of bamboo?! And why doesn't a second keeper ever show up in the cases. This shite is equal to putting a bass boat on Pontchartrain in bad weather. U know its coming. Just wait your turn!

If you are baffled that the OT, which I believe is pretty representative of the Internet in general, values the life of a tiger over the life of an unfortunate human who committed the crime of not being perfect, then you haven't been paying attention.

Humans are consistently given less respect than animals are by the enlightened individuals that police the Internet.

Yea yall got me for sure. What a buffoon I am for valuing the life of a HUMAN over an ANIMAL. If my own dog was endangering someone, it wouldn't even be a choice, he would be dead instantly.

All I can say to you two is WOW

If you value this sacred tiger so much, why not have a problem with the fact it's in a frickING CAGE?
