Bachelors-Accounting

I am a partner in one company and sole owner of a second company. Both companies focused on deepwater drilling and production.

Drive an F250 diesel. Hunting truck is a 97 F250. No truck nuts. No Yeti stickers.

I will say this... some of the smartest people I have met in my life on rigs and platforms have never stepped foot on a college campus to go to class. I’ve had more problems with MBAs in the oilfield than anyone else. Fact.

Dad had a degree from Michigan in mechanical engineering. Worked his whole career Schlumberger before retiring. Was a seismic engineer for a while, do not know much beyond that.

Kin undergrad from LSU, masters in risk management from GSU. Work for a Fortune 500 renewable energy company.

Long story short, "hands" ain't as smart as "white collars" but we are all dumb as shite for being in a cylindrical industry.

I know they are hard workers. I worked one12 hour shift at night once. Never got a break. Went down on one knee and the pusher screamed at me.(Since it was between pipes being pulled we weren't doing anything for 30 secs) But it was good quick money that I needed in college.

bottom line is they got my respect

I thought he was positioning the drill, not the boat. Figured GPS would do that.

It does. DP Officers are kind of like the “test drivers” in driverless cars, only with less wrecks (hopefully).

Holy shite, this may be the best thing that will be written on TD today. I can shut this down and get real work done.
