Oil prices and esg scores

Many have speculated as to what the reason is for our oil and gas to be as high as it is. There are many factors that go into the price of a bbl of crude. Some here want to ignore what our current administration has done, and what they have stated. I am not a part of the financial side of the oil and gas industry, but I have spoken to them. What I have heard is that esg is one of the main, if not the main, culprit.
Esg investing doesn’t work
Esg is driving a credit crunch for oil and gas (7 months ago)
Biden plans to transition away from oil and gas

We all know it’s solely Putin’s fault. No more explanation needed.

lol
But let’s take that excuse and ask why they invaded Ukraine? They never would have done that under Trump, but they did under Obama and Biden. Weird right?

There's at least some pushback. Vanguard - the 2nd biggest asset manager in the world - refuses to rid their portfolios of fossil fuel investments:

The world’s second-largest asset manager Vanguard has refused to stop new investments in fossil fuel projects and end its support for coal, oil and gas production.
Chief executive Tim Buckley said the group, which manages $8.1tn for more than 30mn investors and is the largest investor in coal companies globally, was determined to safeguard its clients from climate risks but this would not require it to end new commitments to fossil fuel industries.

Well that’s at least promising. But this is a tidal wave that we have to stop. It’s oil and gas now. Eventually it’ll be everything they don’t want you to do.

I've never thought to give my egg a score
but now that you mention it, I guess I like them more over easy as oil prices increase.

I have no doubt they refuse to divest in global fossil fuel markets, but the question is what will they do for domestic production.

Been sayin. And it is not just O&G, it is everything, the whole country.

Only liberals have money to invest?
The vast majority of the money is being invested by liberals?
Why don't conservatives start investing more money.
Geez, why would anyone be conservative if you don't have money to invest?

The hedge funds and central bankers control esg. They are the problem. I don’t know how there hasn’t been a class action lawsuit yet

Exactly
But how do we fight this? This is the way they will achieve all that they want without ever having to vote on it. Is this legal?

What is the lowest possible score? I need something to shoot for.

It's a thing, but its not the main culprit. That would be a decade of irresponsible use of capital.

Well I’m going off what I’m told. I know the engineering side of things. If I’m wrong, sorry.

It's not. Not even close.
Is it an expense? Yes. Is it the main culprit for the high oil prices right now? No.
All of these companies had the same ESG policies during the Trump years FWIW.
Signed,
someone that manages, tracks, and analyzes the "E" side of ESG for O&G
